We are anticipating 2023 to be our largest Back to School Festival, supporting 1,200 students and their families!
The 2023 school year is about to be underway, and we want to delight Prince George's County students with tools and resources to inspire learning! The Greater Washington Urban League is excited to partner with Second Baptist Church Southwest to host the 11th Annual Health & Wellness Back 2 School Festival on August 26th.
We’re bringing the entire family an experience to remember, combining wealth and wellness workshops with healthy, delicious food and activities guaranteed to entertain! We will be distributing backpacks filled with school supplies, healthy snacks, fidget toys, and more. Free vaccinations will be offered (COVID, Flu, Tetanus, Shingles).
Students are welcome to visit our booths to be entered into a drawing to win a Stranger Things Lego Set, a Wakanda Forever Entertainment Set, a Little Mermaid Backpack and Doll, or a Melody American Girl Doll -- prizes valued at $125 to $300.
This is a free event that the entire family can enjoy! You must register on Eventbrite to reserve your backpack for each child:
- The child must be present at the event to receive their backpack.
- The reservation of 950 backpacks is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Please only register each child once, duplicate registrations will be deleted.
- Only 250 backpacks will be available for walk-ups after 2:00 pm.
